Summer Activities for Children and Families ? Keele Matters

The borough council has organised a range of activities for children and families over the Summer. These include:

Children?s football coaching courses, available from Monday, 25 July to Friday, 26 August. The courses are for boys and girls aged from 5 to 13 and also feature five-a-side competitions and a trip to a Premier League football ground. The cost is ?17.50 per child for one week or ?25 for a family. I can really recommend these sessions ? my kids love them.

The borough council is also running a programme of sports and activities for eight to 16-year-olds during the summer holidays. SPLAT sessions take place at Jubilee Pool, Knutton Recreation Centre, Kidsgrove Sports Centre and the Borough Museum and Art Gallery from Monday, 1 August to Friday, 2 September. Activities include climbing, football, kwik cricket, table tennis and badminton.

This year?s children?s tennis tournament takes place at Westlands Tennis Courts on Thursday, 18 August. Registration starts at 9am, with the first matches starting at 9.30am. Entry is ?4 per child.
