And so it was when Chris Holt called and asked if I knew of anyone who might want to assume the mantle of managing editor for AllAboutAlpha.com. Like the good hedgie I was raised to be, I saw the opportunity and seized it.
I?ve watched AllAboutAlpha.com grow from a tiny blog to a trusted information brand with a valuable (global) readership base of well-credentialed professionals in the alternative investing space. Having built the news, information and education portion of HedgeWorld.com, I know this is no small accomplishment. I had a staff; AllAboutAlpha.com was built by Chris and a small group of dedicated contributors.
It is with great respect for Chris, AllAboutAlpha.com, the CAIA Association and our readers, that I assume the post of managing editor, or ?Alpha Female?, in keeping with Chris? tongue-in-cheek pseudonym ?Alpha Male?.
As readers you have certain rights and expectations. Because you are trusting me with your precious time, I have certain obligations. This starts with the duty to provide you with valuable information that is clear and concise. I have a duty not to waste your time and to deliver what you want, need and expect from AllAboutAlpha.com. Growing and tending the community to make sure its needs are being met also is my responsibility.
From my perspective, I see AllAboutAlpha.com as a global marketplace of alternative investing ideas. Like all good bazaars, it is only as good as the wares it offers and the buyers and sellers who come to haggle. I invite you to contribute, whether it be a post, a comment, or an email with suggestions for what you?d like to see. I promise to return your emails and take your calls. My intent is to expand the content to fill the needs of the community, provoke thought and perhaps put a few sharp tacks on chairs when and where appropriate.
